English Teacher

We are seeking a Secondary English Teacher for an international school based in Guangzhou. This is available from the upcoming 2026-27 school year in August 2026.

Located in Guangzhou’s Nansha district, this non-profit school provides a modern international learning environment for students from kindergarten through high school. As a school mainly serving children from Hong Kong families, it currently has over 1,500 students and combines a Hong Kong-style educational approach with international curriculum pathways, including HKDSE, IGCSE and A-Level programs, with plans to further develop its international curriculum offering. Set on a spacious campus in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the school is well positioned near major transport links and universities, offering students a broad, multilingual, and globally minded education.

Job responsibilities

• Teach the subject of English Language to secondary school students, ensuring an engaging and enriching learning experience
• Prepare lessons and lectures, develop teaching materials, design and correct assessments, and write report comments
• Support students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking, listening, critical thinking, and academic communication skills
• Prepare students for relevant curriculum requirements and assessments, including international and/or Hong Kong curriculum pathways where applicable
• Collaboratively teach alongside fellow educators, actively contributing to the development and enhancement of the school's curriculum
• Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide targets so that all learners can succeed and improve
• Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents and caregivers
• Create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment that encourages student confidence and participation
• Participate in school activities, meetings, professional development, and other duties as arranged by the school

• Bachelor degree or above in English, English Literature, Education, or a related subject
• Teaching certificate, such as PGCE, QTS, M.Ed, or equivalent
• Two or more years teaching experience in English Language or a related subject
• Experience teaching secondary school students is preferred
• Experience with HKDSE, IGCSE, A-Level, IB, or similar international curriculum is preferred
• Must be eligible to work in China

• Monthly salary for 30,000 to 35,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
